A Journey from Fear to Faith Through Prayer and God’s Word | Grow in God Devotionals

In 2022, I began experiencing a series of deeply disturbing dreams. Some involved being strangled, chased, trapped in unfamiliar places, or seeing things that left me shaken and confused. Around the same time, my waking life also began to unravel. I faced repeated setbacks at work, delays in personal goals, and even the loss of beloved pets. Everything felt heavy, and I could not understand why.

By 2023, the struggle intensified. I felt overwhelmed with fear and despair, and there were moments when I truly believed I was going to die. Through extended periods of fasting and prayer, I began seeking God more earnestly than ever before. During that season, I came to understand, through prayer and discernment, that there were deep spiritual battles at play in my life. This realisation did not come easily, and it was not something I wanted to accept, especially when it involved people close to me.

I tried seeking help from local churches, but at the time, none were available or equipped to walk with me through what I was facing. Despite this, God did not abandon me. Step by step, He led me to faithful ministers and prayer channels that taught me how to stand firm, how to pray with understanding, and how to rely fully on what God says in His Word rather than on fear.

At first, I struggled to hear God clearly. I felt weak, lost, and unsure of how to fight spiritually. But as I continued to pray, fast, and study Scripture, hope began to grow. Even during ordinary moments, such as travelling with my husband, the Lord would bring specific Scriptures to my heart. His Word became my anchor. I began learning how the enemy operates, not so I could live in fear, but so I could stand in truth, authority, and faith in Christ.

I do not have much materially to give back to the ministries God used to help me, but this blog is my small offering of gratitude. It is my way of acknowledging the servants of God who freely gave their time, teachings, and prayers to help others find freedom. As it says in Matthew 10:8, “Freely you have received, freely give.” Like the one leper who returned to give thanks, this is my way of praising God publicly for what He has done.

My prayer is that anyone who is walking a similar path, feeling oppressed, confused, or desperate for deliverance, may find encouragement through these channels and be reminded that God is faithful. He still speaks, He still delivers, and He still restores.
