Grace and peace be upon us. This message is titled Not Every Attack Is a Demon because many of the battles believers face are not always caused by demonic manifestations, but by word curses that have been spoken, received, and agreed with over time. This is a serious matter, and when applied correctly, it can bring real deliverance and transformation.
God has laid it heavily on my heart to speak about fasting against word curses, because in the spirit realm, words attach themselves to people and shape realities. Words are not neutral. They carry power, energy, and spiritual consequence — whether used for life or for destruction.
The Power of Words and Hidden Agreements
Many people do not realise how deeply words spoken over them — often in private — have shaped who they are today. This includes words spoken by parents during childhood, jokes made at your expense, sarcastic remarks, and so-called “playful” comments that were never truly harmless.
Sarcasm is especially dangerous because it often masks belief. Many people say they are joking when, in truth, they fully mean what they say. Silence in response to such words is not neutrality — silence is agreement. Laughter is also an agreement. When someone speaks negatively over you and you laugh it off, the spirit realm recognises that as consent.
This is why boundaries matter. You cannot allow people to “play” with your identity. What may sound casual in the natural realm carries weight in the spiritual realm.
What Is a Word Curse?
A word curse is a spoken declaration that aligns with:
Death instead of life
Limitation instead of freedom
Rejection instead of acceptance
Fear instead of faith
Identity distortion instead of God’s truth
These are often referred to as curses of the tongue. Words spoken — whether by others or by ourselves — carry spiritual, emotional, and psychological power. Repeated negative words shape belief systems, self-perception, and behaviour.
Scripture is clear in Proverbs 18:21:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Words activate spiritual outcomes.
Who Can Speak Word Curses?
Word curses can come from:
Parents and other relatives
Pastors or spiritual leaders
Spouses
Authority figures
Supervisors or managers
Co-workers
Neighbors
Romantic or sexual partners
Even your own mouth
Relationships — both sexual and non-sexual — create spiritual and emotional impressions. What is spoken within those connections shapes reality and identity more than many realise.
Some people chant, decree, or speak out of hatred, envy, or bitterness. Others knowingly use spiritual manipulation. This is why discernment is essential.
The Call to Fast Against Word Curses
The Lord has given specific instruction concerning fasting against word curses.
This should be an 8–12 hour fast, led by the Holy Spirit. You may reach the 8-hour mark and sense the Spirit instructing you to continue. Obedience matters — follow God’s leading.
This can be done as:
A short water fast
A Daniel-style fast (broth, fruits, raw vegetables)
Excuses must stop. This fast requires intention, preparation, and focus.
What to Do During the Fast
While fasting, you must remain spiritually engaged and undistracted.
Scripture Meditation
Isaiah 54:17 — meditate on this scripture repeatedly. A thousand times represents completeness and God’s immense power.
Psalm 35 — declare it multiple times throughout the fast.
Ephesians 5:11 (ESV) — ask the Holy Spirit to expose works of darkness.
Psalm 94 — a powerful psalm that exposes occult activity and those operating in hidden places.
Galatians 3:13 — declare Christ’s finished work in redeeming you from every curse.
Prayer and Renunciation
Ask the Holy Spirit:
Who spoke against me?
What words were spoken?
Where did I unknowingly agree?
Names may surface. Dreams, visions, and words of knowledge may come. Begin to renounce every word curse, spoken knowingly or unknowingly, and break agreement with them in the name of Jesus.
Praise, Thanksgiving, and Healing
Throughout the fast, praise God and thank Him. Declare that:
The blood of Jesus is saturating every inner part of your soul
Every wound caused by word curses is being uprooted
Every false identity is being dismantled
Every limitation spoken over your life is broken
Declare freedom, restoration, and clarity in Jesus’ name.
Final Exhortation and Prayer
If you truly love God, you will obey Him. You will make provision to follow His instruction. Many people will experience not only spiritual freedom but also financial breakthrough, because bondage in one area often affects others.
Christ has already done the work. The victory is available — but obedience activates it.
Prayer:
Father God, I thank You for the finished work of Jesus Christ. I declare that through His blood, I am redeemed from every curse. I renounce every word spoken over my life that did not come from You. I break agreement with fear, limitation, rejection, and false identity. I receive healing, clarity, and restoration. Let Your truth overwrite every lie. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Prayer Against Word Curses and Spiritual Oppression
Lord Jesus Christ,
I come before You with reverence, humility, and faith, acknowledging that You alone are my Redeemer, my Deliverer, and my Victory. I stand on the finished work of the Cross and declare that Your sacrifice is sufficient for my total freedom.
Your Word declares in Galatians 3:13 (NKJV):
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’)."
Lord Jesus, because You became a curse for me, I declare that I am no longer subject to any curse—spoken, written, thought, sent, projected, ritualized or enforced against my life.
Right now, in the name of Jesus, I place at the foot of Your cross at Calvary every word curse spoken to me, every curse thought against me, and every witchcraft curse sent against me out of hatred, jealousy, envy, revenge, bitterness, or malice or any other evil intent—by family members, in-laws, leaders or people of authority, coworkers, friends, neighbors, ex lovers or partners, acquaintances, people who see me online, strangers, and demonic agents. This includes all hired mangkukulam, mambabarang, nagpapalipad-hangin, practitioners of seances, mediums, channelers, diviners, enchanters, psychics, sorcerers, witches, warlocks, shamans, wizards, and all operating through familiar and ancestral spirits. I lay down every spoken word, whispered accusation, silent and negative decree, sarcastic remark, and hidden intention that has attempted to attach itself to my life.
I renounce and reject every curse that has projected low self-esteem, attacked my identity in Christ, spoken poverty over my finances, sickness over my body, destruction, disunity in my family, rejection through demotion at work, ridicule, dishonor, disfavor, shame, or distortion over my beauty and confidence. I renounce every word and spiritual assignment that has attacked my visions, goals, calling, and purpose, producing stagnation, heaviness, delay, confusion, weariness, distractions, lack of motivation, and emotional oppression.
Lord, I thank You for what Your Word declares in Colossians 2:14–15 (NKJV):
"Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."
By the authority of this truth, I declare that every legal ground, spiritual document, accusation, spoken verdict, dream, and demonic record raised against me has been wiped out, canceled, and nailed to the cross of Jesus Christ. I proclaim that principalities and powers, altars, and wicked tongue gatherings that enforced word curses over my life are disarmed, stripped of authority, and publicly defeated by the triumph of Christ.
In the name of Jesus, I command the uprooting of every demonic deposit, every lie, every whisper, every residue of word curses, every form of mind control, manipulation, intimidation, or psychological bondage that entered my soul through words. I declare that these influences have no legal right to remain.
I stand on the authority of Matthew 15:13 (NKJV):
"But He answered and said, ‘Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.’"
Therefore, Father, I ask that You uproot—completely and permanently—every plant You did not plant in my mind, heart, emotions, body, and destiny. Uproot every lie that took root through repeated words. Uproot every false identity formed through mockery, jokes, criticism, manipulation, negative decrees, ridicule, or betrayal.
Lord, I also trust Your wisdom and protection according to Matthew 13:29 (NKJV):
"But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.’"
I thank You that as You uproot what is not from You, You preserve, protect, and strengthen what You have planted in me. Guard my true identity, my calling, my gifts, my faith, and the good seed of Your Word within my life.
Holy Spirit, fill every place that has been cleansed. Replace lies with truth, heaviness with joy, confusion with clarity, insecurity with confidence, fear with peace, and stagnation with divine movement. Restore my mind to soundness, my heart to wholeness, and my spirit to boldness in Christ.
I declare that my identity is secure in Jesus. My future is not cursed. My purpose is not delayed. My voice is not silenced. My life is aligned with heaven. I am redeemed, restored, and repositioned by the blood of the Lamb.
I seal this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, by the power of His blood and by the authority of His Word.

Reflect on words you’ve received in childhood, relationships, or work that may have wounded your spirit.
Write them down and commit to releasing them to Jesus.

Day 2 – Renouncing Word Curses

Prayer / Declaration:
Lord Jesus, I renounce every word curse spoken over me. I reject lies about my identity, beauty, confidence, destiny, finances, and health. I declare that Your blood covers me and breaks every curse in Jesus’ name.
Meditation / Reflection:
Identify specific areas where curses may have affected your confidence, motivation, or emotions.
Speak aloud the opposite of these lies, declaring God’s truth.
Praise & Worship:
Sing or declare that Jesus has set you free, and His Word overrules every spoken curse.
Day 3 – Uprooting Demonic Assignments
Scripture: Matthew 15:13 NKJV – “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.”
Prayer / Declaration:
Heavenly Father, uproot every plant, demonic deposit, and whisper that is not from You in my life. Disarm every spirit that has attempted to manipulate my mind, will, or emotions. Protect the good seed You have planted in me (Matthew 13:29).
Meditation / Reflection:
Consider areas where recurring negative patterns or thoughts appear.
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the root causes for prayer and renunciation.
Praise & Worship:
Thank God for the power of His Spirit to remove and uproot every enemy assignment.
Day 4 – Canceling Legal Rights of the Enemy

Prayer / Declaration:
Lord Jesus, I declare that You have wiped out every legal requirement, accusation, and spiritual debt spoken against me. I stand in victory, fully redeemed, as the enemy has been publicly defeated. I claim triumph over all principalities and powers in Jesus’ name.

List areas of life where you feel restricted, blocked, or delayed.
Speak God’s triumph over each area.

Celebrate your victory in Christ through songs of triumph and praise.
Day 5 – Restoring Identity in Christ
Scripture: 1 John 4:6 NKJV – “We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us.”
Prayer / Declaration:
Lord, restore my identity in Christ. I reject every label, every condemnation, and every false accusation. I am Your child, secure, confident, and loved. My spirit, soul, and body align with Your truth.
Meditation / Reflection:
Write down affirmations of your identity in Christ.
Declare them aloud multiple times.
Praise & Worship:
Sing or meditate on songs that remind you of your identity as God’s child.
Day 6 – Strengthening Faith & Protection
Scripture: Psalms 35 NKJV – “Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me…”
Prayer / Declaration:
Lord, strengthen my faith. Let Your protection surround me. I pray for discernment to identify lies, curses, and manipulation before they take root. I stand clothed in the full armor of God.

Reflect on your spiritual growth and the areas God has restored.
Journal any changes, insights, or breakthroughs.
Praise & Worship:
